NBTA Rules

  • NBTA Rules will be used for NBTA Miss Majorette of Ohio, NBTA Ohio State Solo Championships, and open competition.
  • The Arnold International Twirling Competition is open to individuals from all organizations. However, NBTA rules will prevail with exceptions. Gymnastics, except for aerials, are permitted.
  • Twirler’s age will be as of 9/1/2023 for all events.
  • Age divisions are 0-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15, and 16+.
  • Self-advancement after the deadline will result in a double fee.

2024 Competition Details

  • We are using TWO locations this year. Please refer to the homepage for address details. The locations are separate from the rest of the Arnold Sports Festival this year. Therefore, you DO NOT need to purchase a daily admission ticket through the Arnold Sports Festival to attend, and parking will be free.
  • Each twirler will receive 1 program which includes lane assignments and information about the contest. A limited number of additional programs will be available day of the contest for $10.
  • A sibling discount is available when you email twirlamerica@gmail.com for details.
  • In the event of cancellation of the contest by the contest director, this $45 fee is non-refundable.
  • No coolers or outside food will be permitted. FieldHouse USA is attached to Polaris Fashion Place which has a food court. There will be a concessions stand inside the venue, as well.
  • You may photograph or record your own child or student from designated areas only.
  • Contestants need to stay on schedule and be in the correct lane on time – we will not call names you must follow the schedule. Pay attention and send your twirler to their lane promptly.  If you miss your event you missed your event.
  • Fine Design is our custom shirt vendor. No pre-order is necessary and you will be given the opportunity to customize your shirt.

Awards & Results

  • Score sheets and awards for non-pageant competitions will be available as soon as they have been tabulated. A list of placements will be available for viewing on this website.
  • Pageant results will become official 15 minutes after the conclusion of the Awards Ceremony. Please check all score sheets and results immediately.
  • Pageant awards will be plaques/trophies for 1st through 3rd place, except Novice which will have medallions/plates. Pageant winners will also receive a sash and crown.
  • Awards for all Pageant events will be presented at the Awards Ceremony following the contest. Please wear a costume for the pictures.
  • All pageant score sheets will be distributed at the completion of the contest for all announced results. If you are unable to stay for the Awards Ceremony, please have someone pick up your score sheets and awards if you cannot stay. No awards or score sheets will be mailed.
  • Participants in the Miss Photogenic contest (non-sanctioned) must bring their photo picture to the Director’s Table by 8:30 AM. We recommend you bring a large, high-resolution photo and it must be labeled with the contestant’s name and age on the back. There are two age ranges: Junior (0-12) and Senior (13+) 1st place receives a trophy and sash, 2nd and 3rd place receive medals/plates.

Arnold Information

  • For Arnold modeling and best appearing, all events will be completed in costume.
  • Arnold International Twirl Champion: 1 baton solo, max time 2:30. There will be a champion for each age group (0-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15, 16+) and an overall Twirl Off Champion.
  • Arnold International Boys Twirl Champion: 1 baton solo, max time 2:30. There will be a champion for each age group (0-12 and 13+).
  • Arnold International High School Feature Twirler Champion: $100 scholarship for winner when there is a minimum of 10 contestants. 1 baton solo for 1 minute, then multiple batons, max 2:30 total. Must be a high school (grades 9-12) student.
  • Arnold International Collegiate Feature Twirler Champion: $100 scholarship to the winner when there is a minimum of 10 contestants. 1 baton solo for 1 minute, then multiple batons, max 2:30 total. Must be a college student.
  • Arnold International Elite Twirl Champion: $100 scholarship to Junior winner and Senior winner when there is a minimum of 10 contestants in each. This consists of two events: 1 baton solo (2:30 max) and 2-3 baton solo (2:00 max). Two levels: Junior (age 10-14) and Senior (age 15+)
  • Arnold International Miss Majorette: Age divisions are 0-6, 7-9, 10- 12, 13-15, 16+. Levels are Novice, Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Solo (40%), Strut (40%) and Costume Model (20%). No interview.
  • **NEW THIS YEAR** Arnold International Strut-Off Champion: There will be a champion for each age group (0-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15, 16+) and an overall Strut Off Champion.

Miss Majorette Information

  • Miss Majorette of Ohio will follow NBTA rules and only the Advanced division will wear dresses. Interviews for all divisions except Novice.
  • Each competitor will receive a plaque and will be awarded a plate for each event entered with their place or participation. Parents note that your twirler may place their awards on their plaque in any manner they wish.
  • Winners in the Beginner and Intermediate divisions, and the top 3 in the Advanced division qualify to compete at AYOP at Norte Dame this July.
  • All show twirl, rhythmic and teams send your music to Remington Kyes at Remykyes@gmail.com  Please bring backup music to the contest.
  • We hope to send you the set system schedule before the contest.  If this doesn’t happen, we will provide you with the set system schedule when you arrive and proceed as usual with Modeling events, Marching/Struts, solos, etc.
